    Peterborough's own ghost storyteller

    From Stanground to Stoneground.

    Long before Halloween became the spectacle we know today, Edmund Gill Swain was finding ghosts much closer to home. Swain was vicar of Stanground, in Peterborough, and the place inspired the fictional “Stoneground” of The Stoneground Ghost Tales. His stories transformed familiar churches, lonely roads, old gravestones and the Fen-edge landscape around Peterborough into a distinctly local world of supernatural fiction.
