The Drapers Arms

Wetherspoon's city centre pub occupies Charles Armstrong's 1899 drapery, which traded until 1996. A 2020 refurbishment added a rear extension, a lift and a roof terrace. Twelve handpumps, guest ales from local breweries, and food from eight in the morning.

The Draper’s Arms combines a broad Wetherspoon food and drink offer with the history of a Cowgate building created for one of Peterborough’s long-established drapery businesses.

The building was purpose-built for draper and milliner Charles Armstrong in the late nineteenth century. The business remained associated with the premises for almost a century, selling carpets, curtains and household linens before the building entered a new chapter as a pub.

Today, The Draper’s Arms offers breakfasts, familiar pub food, cask ales, lager, cider, wine, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks and hot drinks. Ordering is available at the bar or through the Wetherspoon app where available.

Its central Cowgate position, free Wi-Fi, outside seating and step-free access make it a practical meeting point close to Peterborough’s railway and bus stations.
