Four headline activities, a bar and absolutely no membership fees: The No Work Club has turned the first floor at Orton Meadows into Peterborough's new playground for families, friends, dates and competitive nights out.
Opened on 28 March 2026, The No Work Club Peterborough is a home-grown addition to the city's visitor economy. Developed by local entrepreneur Tom Owen, it transforms an existing space above Blind Tiger Taproom & Kitchen into a lively, experience-led destination built around doing things together.
Its arrival matters because Orton Meadows was already one of Peterborough's most useful leisure clusters. Golf, food, a garden centre, accommodation and the gateway to Nene Park were all here, but most of the area's identity remained tied to daylight and the outdoors. The No Work Club adds an evening, indoor and wet-weather reason to stay.
The choice is deliberately broad. Visitors can throw real axes at digitally projected targets, tackle a stylised nine-hole crazy-golf course, work through one of three themed escape rooms or let smart dartboards handle the scoring. Each activity works independently, but the venue is designed to make combining them easy.
That flexibility gives the club a wider audience than its cheeky, after-work branding might first suggest. Mini golf is promoted for families, while the bar, interactive games and escape rooms suit adult evenings, dates and celebrations. Larger groups can assemble their own combination of activities, drinks and food.
Peterborough's strongest destinations are often clusters rather than single attractions. With Ferry Meadows, Orton Meadows Golf, Blind Tiger and The Granary nearby, The No Work Club helps turn this part of the city into somewhere visitors can move from outdoor activity to food and evening entertainment without relocating across Peterborough.
What to expect
Interactive axe throwing
Throw real axes at wooden targets enhanced with projected digital games. Sessions include an instructor-led safety briefing and coaching before the competition begins.
Urban crazy golf
A compact, highly styled course filled with individual themes, unusual obstacles, interactive features and plenty of opportunities for friendly rivalry and photographs.
Three escape rooms
Travel through time in Time, enter Medusa's tomb in total darkness or investigate a mysterious Victorian townhouse in The Mirror.
Interactive darts
Smart boards track each throw, calculate the scores and unlock different game modes, leaving players free to concentrate on beating their friends.
Drinks and social games
Cocktails, craft drinks, milkshakes and alcohol-free choices are joined by informal games including shuffleboard, pool and beer pong.
Parties and private hire
Groups can combine activities with drinks and pizza packages, while larger celebrations, workplace events and private venue hire can be arranged directly.

- The venue occupies the first floor above Blind Tiger Taproom & Kitchen at Orton Meadows, close to Notcutts Garden Centre and The Granary.
- Summer opening hours
- Monday–Thursday 10am–9pm; Friday and Saturday 10am–10pm; Sunday 10am–8pm. Seasonal hours may differ.
- Booking
- Activities are booked separately online. Advance booking is sensible for evenings, weekends, school holidays and larger groups.
- Axe throwing
- Choose a 30 or 60-minute session. Coaching, a safety briefing and use of the interactive target games are included. Check the booking conditions for participation requirements.
- Mini golf
- The course has nine individually themed holes with obstacles and interactive features. It is promoted as suitable for families as well as adult groups.
- Escape rooms
- Choose from Time, Medusa or The Mirror. Medusa is played in total darkness and may not suit every visitor.
- Interactive darts
- Thirty and 60-minute sessions are available. Smart boards provide automatic scoring and a choice of competitive games.
- Food and drink
- The bar serves cocktails, craft drinks, milkshakes and soft drinks. Pizza and drinks packages can be arranged for groups and private bookings.
- By car
- Turn from Oundle Road onto Ham Lane at the main Orton Meadows and Ferry Meadows gateway.
- Parking
- Orton Meadows has barrier-controlled parking, charged 24 hours a day. Blind Tiger advertises up to two hours free when the ticket is validated at the bar; check the current terms on arrival.
- Public transport
- A bus stop on Oundle Road is within a short walk. Orton Meadows is also accessible by bicycle from the wider Nene Park network.
- Access
- The activities are on the first floor. Detailed access arrangements are not currently published, so discuss step-free access or other requirements with the venue before booking.
