    Are you 11-17 years old and passionate about the environment? Would you like to have a positive impact in protecting and enhancing the environment in your local area through practical conservation tasks? Could you be a wildlife champion of the future and help create a better world? Our Rangers will share their skills and knowledge whilst supporting you to carry out different practical conservation tasks each month.

  • Lake and River Boat Trips

    Our Lake and river boat trips are available at weekends during term time and most days in the school holidays. These 45-minute sightseeing trips our electrically-powered passenger boat take you out to enjoy unique views of Overton Lake and the River Nene, and provide plenty of wildlife spotting opportunities!

    Tickets are £10 per person, £3 for children aged 4 and under, manual wheelchair spaces are available (powered wheelchairs are not able to access the boat) and well behaved dogs are welcome too!

    The trips are available at weekends and most days during the school holidays. Our boat trips set sail right on time, so we’d love for you to arrive a little early so you don’t miss your slot! If you use a wheelchair, please plan to be here about 15 minutes before departure so we can get the accessible ramp in place and make sure you’re comfortably aboard.

    Bring your creative spirit to the free ‘Wand Making Craft’ drop-in at the Visitor Centre, Ferry Meadows, Peterborough. Decorate a wand from Elder-wood, tap a cauldron and say your magic word to prepare for Halloween adventures.

  • Longthorpe Tower Tours

    Longthorpe Tower Longthorpe Tower, Peterborough, United Kingdom

    Longthorpe Tower is the surviving part of a 14th century, three storey medieval fortified Manor House. It contains the finest set of medieval wall paintings in a domestic setting in Western Europe, giving a rare insight into the medieval mind.

  • Stained Glass workshop – Suncatcher

    Nene Outdoors Ham Lane, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom

    Artisan stained glass artist Matt from Diamond Stars Glass leads this workshop to make your own unique suncatcher. Matt will teach you glass cutting techniques and you will learn to solder your piece together to make a beautiful suncatcher. There will be a few designs for you to get started and then you can get creative and make it unique to you.

  • Wellbeing Wander

    Not sure where to go for a walk, or not keen on walking on your own? Join one of our Visitor Rangers for a social walk around Ferry Meadows and the wider Nene Park and meet like minded people.

    Well-behaved dogs on leads welcome.
    The location and routes of the walks will be different each month with 2 opportunities to come along and see a different area of Nene Park.

    Suitable for: 14yrs +

    Cost: free to attend but places must be booked.

  • Guided Cycle Ride

    Nene Outdoors Ham Lane, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom

    Our partner, Living Sport is running guided rides of 45 minutes each using our different cycle routes for anyone who may want to increase their confidence in riding, make new cycling friends, or to learn new routes they have not tried before.

    Rides will be for up to eight people and you can bring your own bikes, or rent one of Nene Outdoors’ hire bikes for £18 for two hours, meaning you can continue your ride around the park once you return from the guided route. It’s a great way to see Nene Park Trust land you may not have visited before, in a safe, healthy and fun way.

    There are two sessions each Wednesday to sign up for: 11:00-11:45 and 12:15 - 13:00.
