What began as an independent Peterborough idea in 2021 has grown into a fully fledged games bar and expanded into a second Lincolnshire venue. The original Glo Golf combines neon space adventure with interactive darts, karaoke, pool, shuffleboard, shooting games and cocktails.
Climb the stairs from Wentworth Street and ordinary daylight gives way to ultraviolet colour. Glowing pathways lead through a 15-hole course inhabited by astronauts, aliens and oversized space scenery, with obstacles standing between every player and the satisfaction of a carefully judged hole in one.
The golf course remains the centrepiece. Designed for adults and children to play together, it usually takes around 30 to 40 minutes to complete, although larger groups and busy periods can extend the mission. Putters, balls and scorecards are supplied.
Glo Golf is one of those local businesses that has kept developing rather than standing still. The original course has been joined by interactive and augmented-reality darts, pool, shuffleboard, a private karaoke room and interactive shooting. Visitors can combine activities or simply stop for food and a drink at the licensed bar.
The darts use real boards and real darts, with sensors recording each throw and displaying the result on screen. Players can choose different game formats and difficulty settings, making the lanes approachable for beginners while leaving plenty of room for more experienced competitors to show off.
Its first-floor Wentworth Street location makes Glo Golf a genuine city-centre discovery: close to Bridge Street and the Museum but easy to walk past without noticing what is upstairs. It works as a family activity during the day and becomes an adult games bar in the evening, contributing to Peterborough’s growing entertainment and nightlife offer.
