ODEON Luxe Peterborough

Eight screens, luxury recliners, laser projection and a full-scale IMAX auditorium above the city’s main shopping centre. ODEON Luxe has given central Peterborough a cinema designed to make every visit feel like the main event.

ODEON Luxe Peterborough opened in November 2024 as the crowning feature of Queensgate Shopping Centre’s leisure extension. Occupying 25,000 square feet at roof level, it brought a major modern cinema back into the centre of Peterborough and created a new anchor for shopping trips, family days and evenings in the city.

The cinema contains eight auditoriums and more than 600 seats, but this is not a conventional multiplex. Every screen uses laser projection, accompanied by Dolby-powered sound and ODEON Luxe seating designed with generous legroom, tables and adjustable comfort. Selected screens also include VIP Beds, the largest seats available within the ODEON range.

The centrepiece is the IMAX auditorium. Its screen extends from wall to wall and floor to ceiling, supported by powerful multi-channel sound that turns major releases into something closer to an event than an ordinary screening. It is a valuable addition to Peterborough’s regional leisure offer, particularly for audiences who previously travelled elsewhere for premium-format cinema.

Its city-centre location makes the cinema unusually easy to combine with the rest of a day out. Queensgate’s shops, restaurants and cafés are directly below, while Putt & Play, Cathedral Square and Peterborough railway station are all close by. For families, couples and groups of friends, it is now a central part of Peterborough’s expanding evening economy.
