A titanosaur is a type of enormous, long-necked dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 100 to 66 million years ago. It belonged to a group of plant-eating dinosaurs known as sauropods, recognised for their long necks, long tails and relatively small heads. Titanosaurs were among the largest animals ever to walk the Earth, with some species reaching over 30 metres in length. They roamed across ancient landscapes, feeding on vegetation and travelling in herds, and their fossils have been discovered on every continent, helping scientists understand how life evolved on a global scale.
